Decorative Masks i.e. Stencils

I have been neglecting the Decorative Masks in both the Annual and Mini Catalog, and it’s almost time for them to potentially retire! They are fun to use with blending brushes, sponges and spritzers to add ink to any project. And you can also use them with heat embossing or Embossing Paste to add texture.

The Loveliest Layers set has a background stencil and 4 layering stencils that form a beautiful flower.

Above I used the background stencil and Blending Brushes for the first card and dabbed Versamark then embossed in white for the second.

I love how easy the above card was using the Loveliest Layers and just 2 colors of ink: Soft Succulent and Fresh Freesia.

The Stamparatus was a big time saver for this project. I added layers one at a time and even did my stamping with the Stamparatus. It went so fast, I cranked out 8 of these cards in no time.

The Artistic Mix Decorative Masks have 2 groups of stencils that can work together or alone. And then there is a label stencil to make 2 shapes.

I played around to make different backgrounds, including a couple with Embossing Paste in this Ph.D. collection – projects half done. I grabbed some scraps left from previous projects (mostly from the Rain or Shine Designer Paper) to add to some of my backgrounds.

Tip: The Decorative Masks take up very little space. So don’t forget to grab these 2 sets in case they retire.

Happy crafting,

Kim Wilson
