Intricate Stamp Images

I tend to avoid intricate stamps, maybe because I’m too lazy or feel uncoordinated to tackle a big coloring project. But I took a gamble with the In The Country stamp set (after all, it’s FREE during Sale-a-bration). And I love it! The art work is so beautiful, that you really don’t need to color it – just stamp and add a greeting if you wish.

These 2 card have a masculine look with the Gray Granite ink and cardstock. I added a panel of Vellum Basics (4 x 5-1/4″) to the Gray Granite standard card base (8-1/2 x 5-1/2″ folded in half). The Basic White piece is 2-1/4 x 3-1/2″ and the Basic Gray panel is 2-1/2 x 3-3/4″. I added 3 Classic Matte Dots and these cards look SHARP!

Again, I did no coloring but just stamped in Memento Black ink for the scenery and the sentiment (from the Greatest Journey stamp set). Black die cuts from the same bundle were the perfect accent. Again, using different widths of matting really makes these #simplestamping cards pop. I stamped on a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. This was matted on a 3-3/4 x 5″ panel of Basic Gray and then on a standard card base (1/2 sheet folded).

Yes, I broke down and did a little coloring. This card was demonstrated at Stampin’ Up! OnStage. I just picked up a little ink (Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow) with my Blender Pen and dabbed it around on parts of the image. You could also use watercolor pencils with the blender pen. You will see 2 more Sale-abration freebies used on this card: The Dandy Designs Designer Paper and the Sending Support stamp set for the sentiment. It also used a new folder and 3 of the Stylish Shapes dies (links at the bottom).

I got even braver and tried some watercoloring with Water Painters and ink. Shimmery White Cardstock is good for watercoloring and our Fluid 100 Watercolor paper is better yet, with a fun texture too. I added a Distressed Gold die cut frame and photo corners to finish off my masterpieces!

I’m pretty happy with all the cards I made with my free stamp set. I hope it gives you some ideas too! Check out the supplies below and visit MY WEBSITE to either : shop, sign up for my newsletter or join my team.

Happy crafting,
