Heart Fold Card

I found a fun fold perfect for Valentine’s Day! I added a few things to the original design and I love how these turned out. You can make them with any paper, but I used Stampin’ Up!s Country Floral Lane to get the beautiful patterns and colors that make this card pop.

I made a VIDEO to show how to make this fun fold, but I’ll put the instructions here as well.

  1. Cut a quarter sheet of Cardstock (5-1/2 x 4-1/4″) – I used Sweet Sorbet. ( I didn’t think until afterwards, but you can punch the top corners of this backing piece to match the heart shape.)
  2. Cut your Designer Paper (Country Floral Lane DSP) at 5-1/4 x 8″ and fold in half (at 4″)
  3. Cut a slit across the front of the folded DSP – from 1-1/4″ from the bottom fold to 2″ from the top corner. This will create the heart shape when you open the card.
  4. While it is folded, punch the Best Trio Punch or a corner rounder at the top 2 corners.
  5. Adhere to the backing cardstock. This gives the card a little more substance.
  6. The bottom flap of DSP should be adhered down – either completely or on the side and bottom to make a pocket.
  7. Stamp and embellish. Add a closure piece with a Stampin’ Dimensional just below the slit on the front.

For the above card, I made a pocket with a pull out tag and stamped right on the front.

Here’s another sample with a different closure cut from the DSP and another pocket with tag.

For this card I stamped right on the inside of the card on the lighter pattern and used a stamped banner for the front. This one has the bottom flap completely adhered.

I hope you give this fun fold a try. I certainly enjoyed making it plus a few extras to send!

More SAB freebies have been added to MY STORE, including a bundle! Plus a new kit to the Kits Collection. Check them out!

Happy crafting,

Kim Wilson

Oh, if the Heart Bouquet Punch is still out of stock, try the Heart Punch pack. It layers too!
