Easy Fun Fold for Chicks and Butterflies

Did you know that Stampin’ Up! has two great out of publication specials going on right now?  In case you are wondering, an “out of publication” offering is one that is not in a printed catalog.  We have the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick bundles and the Butterfly Brilliance Collection.  I used both to make some Fun Fold cards and a bonus Easter Card.

This is a variation on a latch card using the Butterfly Bijou Designer paper – isn’t this paper gorgeous?  The large butterfly is die cut with the Butterfly Bouquet bundle and colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The sentiment is from the Many Messages bundle.

Tip:  Curl the wings under (or up if you prefer) with a bone folder to give dimension.  Attach the body to the flap with liquid glue or glue dots.

Here’s how to assemble this easy card.  Score and fold the flap at 1/2″ and adhere it to the inside of the card.  Stamp the inside liner (here Basic White) and adhere over the folded edge.

I did a similar one earlier with the Hey Chick bundle.  This time I used a Stitched Nested Label Die as the flap.  Again, score and fold one end and tuck it under the inside panel.

This one is a little different because I cut off a 1-1/4 inch section of the front of the card.  The Designer Paper piece on the inside is just  1″ wide, leaving the rest of the inside for a greeting on Basic White.

And I couldn’t resist using the Hey Chick stamps and dies for a cute Easter note card.

The Easter eggs are die cut from the scraps of Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper after die cutting the butterflies.  The basket is the tree stump with the branch cut off.  I have some old fringe scissors for the Granny Apple Green grass.  All the pieces are popped up with mini dimensionals.

I hope you will check out these 2 great “out of pub” specials at my store.  Look at the photos below to see more about these popular bundles.

Happy crafting,
