Faux Silk Technique
Since the Ten Years of Growth Paper Pumpkin kit had some shiny gold tissue paper, I thought it was time to dust off this old technique. Faux Silk is usually done with white tissue paper but I went rogue and tried it in the gold and also in the light blue that usually comes with the kits. VIDEO HERE
Instructions:
- Cut a piece of tissue paper slightly larger than your desired size. Stamp an image randomly to cover the piece if desired. NOTE: The gold tissue paper does not absorb ink well, so leave time to dry or blot it. (Don’t ask how I learned).
- Crumple up the tissue into a small ball and gently unfold it leaving wrinkles. I used a 3-4/4 x 5 inch piece of Basic White Cardstock as my mat.
- Adhere the tissue to the mat using Adhesive Sheets or Liquid Glue, leaving in the wrinkles.
- Trim edges and mount to card. Add additional layers and embellishments to your background.
The Color Refresh and new Annual Catalog info will be given to demonstrators this week. Be sure you are subscribed to my newsletter to keep up on what’s new with Stampin’ Up!
