Masking Technique and Sketch
Last month, Stampin’ Up! had a sketch challenge for us. Working from a card sketch is a great way to spark your creativity while using supplies you have on hand.
I used the Cheerful Daisies stamp set and the masking technique for my challenge card. I made my mask out of a sticky all over post it note so I could re-use it. Remember when you are masking to stamp the foreground first, then cover it with the mask, then stamp the background image.
I finished it off with a simple piece of ribbon and sentiment strip. It would be so easy to make multiples of this design, or adapt it to an entirely different stamp set and/or color palette.
I didn’t use any Designer Series Paper on my card, but at 15% off in June, it would be easy to make the circles for the sketch be circles of DSP. Give it a try! And check out my store at any of the product thumbnails below. Or better yet, add your favorite Stampin’ Up! products to your STARTER KIT for the best deal.
Card class for June is coming up soon. Contact me through my website if you would like to attend in person or virtually with a kit.
Happy crafting,
Kim Wilson
