Why are you doing only virtual classes?

My new Stampin’ Up! catalogs are here and you should have yours by the end of the month if you have ordered from me in the past year.  There are lots of fun new crafting products that I can’t wait to play with, and share with you!
I want to let you know why I will not be having in-person classes for this year, even though small group gatherings are now allowed in my county.   As someone said, we are all in the same storm, but not in the same boat. My family is in a unique situation, in that our daughter who lives with us works in a senior living facility, which as you know houses vulnerable folks that we don’t want to take any chances with. My mom is in a similar facility in western New York, and they have had many serious outbreaks and many deaths in their area. Some of these have been brought in by staff who did not have symptoms early on, but were still contagious and it spread to the residents. Another scenario, would be if my daughter would catch the virus from a patient or a co-worker (they have a closet for a break room), and bring it home to us and any visitors. So, in any case, we are cheering on our neighbors and local businesses as they open up, but being extra cautious when we are around others.
Here is my hero, all suited up for when a patient is in quarantine in their room (new or recently returned from the outside). Fortunately, she only has to wear a surgical mask (and not all the other gear) for the rest of the day, as they have had no cases yet.

I start my day with a song and a prayer which has been very meaningful. You can subscribe here.  The Bible has been a great hope and comfort to me. It’s amazing how much of scripture has relevance to a difficult season – there are a lot of storms and troubling times in the Bible. If you don’t know where to start, try reading a Psalm each day.
It’s been fun to learn new things during this challenging times.  Making videos and kits has been a rewarding way to connect with people as I am working from home.  I’m missing traveling to see my Stampin’ Up! friends this year, but am thankful that we can still share online.
