How to Make a Free Card Rack

I’ve been working hard on my Project Life by Stampin’ Up! presentation for Friday, but want to share my other project for this week.   A facebook friend posted a photo of a few doors that she didn’t want.  I nabbed this one, probably an old closet door, to make a card rack.

Today’s Tips:

-I cleaned off the dirt and cobwebs.

-After sanding a few nicks and paint stains, I decided rather than restaining, to just sand a few more of the edges for a distressed look.  I love the old knob and hinges that add to the shabby chic look.

-I was going to buy some thin wood to line the back of the panels.  But I had some heavy chipboard (I believe it was backing from Stampin’ Up! specialty paper or maybe glimmer paper) already on hand.  So I trimmed the chipboard to fit and used my Stampin’ Up! mono multi adhesive glue to adhere the panels. Leaned against the wall, my free card rack is finished and I love it!

-There are some great new Weekly Deals at my Stampin’ Up! website.  September 10 is the last day to get Paper Pumpkin at half price (use Promo Code HALFOFF2).  Like my Facebook Page (link to your right) and Get Notifications to keep up on all my Stampin’ Up! news.
