Owl in a Pop Up Box

Here’s a cute card with a collapsible box.  I used the owl stamp from Punch Bunch.  Can you think of any other fun stamps to use with this box pattern?  I got this idea from an old stamping magazine.

I used the Ice Cream DSP (FREE during SAB).  To make the box you need  2 pieces of Crumb Cake Cardstock.  The main piece is 7 x 2 1/4.  Score across the long direction 3/4 inches.  Across the short direction, score in 4 places:  at 2″, 2 3/4″, 4 3/4 and 5 1/2.  Cut up to the 3/4″  score lines to form the box flaps (the box has no bottom).  Adhere one side to form the box.  Be sure it will collapse properly.

An optional insert can be used to attach your pop up.  Cut a second piece at 1 1/2 x 2 1/2.  Score 1/4 inch from each end and fold in opposite directions.  Insert into the box.  Be sure the box will still collapse.

Here’s a simple 3×3 card using the owl again.  The non-concentric circles made with different sizes of circle punches add a whimsical touch.

Don’t forget to try the box kite card using the owl punch – tutorial is a few posts previous to this one.

And here’s one last card using the owl.  My friend wanted to see if you could cut fabric letters using the Big Shot dies and Fabric Adhesive Roll – yes!
