New Stamping Freebies

I have been having so much fun with the Sale-a-bration freebies from Stampin’ Up! and now we have even more to choose from! Botanical Layers is in the Annual Catalog and my neglected set deserved some love. I found it very easy to use and pair with sentiments for many occasions.

I used my color coach to choose all sorts of fun combinations for these cards. (Email me and I can send you the color coach file). The first 2 cards are #simplestamping #stampinup with sentiments from the Softly Said set. And the bottom 3 cards are stepped up with Neutrals Designer Paper, cardstock and twine.

Delightfully Eclectic Designer Paper gets you the biggest bang for your buck when you get it free during Sale-a-bration. It’s 48 sheets of 12×12 with all sorts of fun patterns. Above are a smattering of the swap cards #demoperk I received with this delightful paper.

Back to the original SAB freebies, The Sunny Day Designer Paper is one of my favorites. I love the bright colors and images. Here I paired 2 of the sheets with the matching fruit and sentiment that you can find in the Ice Cream Swirl bundle. So easy with a quick touch of Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends markers.

Sweetest Cherries Card

I had a few strips of the cherry paper left – just enough to fill a card front. This time I used the Sweetest Cherries set and punch for a bright bold look. You may also notice the Perennial Postage dies in use.

The main focus of the Sunny Days paper is to coordinate with the Bright Skies Bundle. Look at the sweet die cut flower and leaves. Oh my, I love it!!!!! And I stepped up the second card with more Sale-a-bration freebies – the ribbon and dots. Seriously, this would be my top choice for the end of winter crafting. What a blessing for you to enjoy creativity and then send a cheerful handmade greeting and bless someone else!

I hope that gives you some ideas to try. The supply list is below and I appreciate your purchases! Also consider joining my team during SAB to get the free glass mat studio and access to our team group. #demoperks We’d love to have you as part of the Stampin’ Up! family.

I have fun every year paper crafting some easy treat holders. Here are the ones I shared this week on my Facebook page and YouTube channel. I hope they give you some inspiration to spread some love this month!

These 3 are made from Brights Designer Series Paper and are filled with Ghiardelli, Doves and a small candy bar from Aldi. Don’t you love the cute little mailbox?

The Hooray for Surprises stamps were perfect for this envelope holder made with Stampin’ Up! 3×3″ envelopes.

And I had to reprise the cute punch art chocolates and the square pillow boxes. See below for all the products I used and my YOUTUBE channel for the videos.

Hooray for Surprises Valentine

The Hooray for Surprises bundle is unique because it gives you several different ways to hide a sentiment (or gift card etc.) behind a tear off panel. It has some great sentiments and images for birthdays and other occasions. It’s in my “keep forever” pile for the PULL and OPEN HERE stamps alone! If you love interactive cards, this is a must have.

I CASED this layout from a fellow demonstrator. I love the Red and Gold from Most Adored Specialty Paper – FREE from Stampin’ Up! during Sale-a-bration.

To make this card, die cut and stamp the pieces as above. All of the dies that have tabs will partially cut the paper so that the recipient can pull the tab, and open up a surprise greeting or goodie. I taped the Flirty Flamingo Heart with greeting on the back of the gold panel, directly under the gold heart so that when the tab is pulled, the greeting is right there. Another way to do the bottom greeting is to make a scrap paper panel the same exact size as the layering piece. Then pull off the tab for the scrap paper and use it as a template to get exact placement of your greeting.

I used a partial die cut of the long thin piece to make my pull tab more obvious. Use a strong glue dot or 2 on top of the section that slips under the heart.

You can see a little peak of the greeting piece that is will be exposed when the tab is pulled completely.

And here’s the finished card – yes the flower and leaves are also included in the bundle! I hope you get a chance to try an interactive card like this one. It was lots of fun to make. Remember, you can get this beautiful paper FREE when you buy the bundle in January/February 2024.

Happy crafting,

Most Adored Valentine’s Day Cards

I have been having the MOST fun with the MOST Adored Designer Series Paper. It goes with so many of the stamps and dies from Stampin’ Up! I love that one side is gold patterns and one side is bright heartfelt designs. And the best part – it’s FREE during Sale-a-bration.

The paper was designed to coordinate with the Adoring Hearts bundle. The folder is a Hybrid embossing folder, which means you can use the dies at the same time to cut embossed hearts. There are so many versatile ways to use this bundle!

I whipped out a bunch of card fronts with the paper – just cut at 4″ and then 5-1/4″. The leftover strips I flipped to go across on some of the cards. Tip: The Lifetime of Love bundle also is a nice match to the rose in the paper.

Here’s a couple more using different stamp sets for the sentiments.

For this one I used the Love of Spring Dies which coordinate also with the January, February and March Paper Pumpkin kits. Don’t you love the gold accents on the paper and the die cut?

And this is my favorite, using some fun new dies (Perennial Postage and Thoughtful Moment)- see all the links below. The Thoughtful Moments is also a Hybrid folder, so it cuts and embosses at the same time! The white panel is dry embossed with the Softly Sophisticated folder – so elegant.

I hope that gives you some inspiration for Valentine’s Day cards – wedding and anniversary too!

Alphabet Dies for Card making

I’ve been having more fun with the Bee Mine Suite. This time I added in the Mini Alphabet Dies. Don’t miss them in the new mini catalog – they pack a punch of useful versatility! (links below)

In card class yesterday we fussy cut a little bee from the Be Mine Designer Series Paper and then added the letters from the Mini Alphabet Dies. So cute and easy! Step it up by using the Bee My Valentine bundle and create a punch art bee.

TIP: The Mini Alphabet comes in one die so you can cut a bunch of letters at once or just piece in some scraps like I did here. Better yet, add some Adhesive Sheets before you cut so your letters become stickers. Otherwise, use a few dots of Multipurpose Glue to adhere them to your project. Note: This die also fits in the Mini Machine!

Here’s a cute party favor – add a honey stick to a tea bag in a cello bag. Decorate with a circle and another fussy cut bee and letter. Step it up by using the Bee My Valentine bundle and create a punch art bee.

I forgot to add this cute Sweet Sorbet ribbon to my product links, so HERE IT IS.

Here I used the alphabet again with the Fluffiest Friends beaver holding the twig heart. Can’t find a sentiment stamp for your project? Better grab the Mini Alphabet dies from my store – the possibilities are endless!

Valentine’s Day Crafting Trends

One trend, which makes complete sense, is stamps and papers featuring mailboxes and postage. Valentine’s Day is popular (at least in the US) for sending and receiving cards, often by mail. Even the kids make mailboxes out of shoe boxes for school! Here are some of my favorite products by Stampin’ Up! featuring this trend.

Who wouldn’t love receiving a cute little envelope in a paper mailbox? The new SENDING LOVE bundle is proving very popular in the crafting world. It’s versatile for any occasion too!

The Perennial Postage bundle with it’s many sizes of postage stamp dies is going to be a real favorite of mine. This is a sample from the new mini-catalog, but I can’t wait to play with my own set. It even has a little postage cancellation die. The stamp set included in the bundle has some great sentiments that fit the dies.

The perennial postage dies come in both rectangles and squares to maximize usefulness for your crafting projects. Here, the artist paired it with the new LET’s CHAT stamp set.

I had a few scraps of TRADITIONS OF ST. NICK Designer Paper left from Christmas crafting. I thought the vintage postal boxes looked great paired with the post box from the STAMPED WITH LOVE stamp set. You might want to grab that paper from the Online Exclusives while it is still available.

I hope that gives you some more ideas for Valentine’s Day crafting and especially for using your supplies for multiple occasions.

It’s SALE-A-BRATION, so be sure to check out my store for special offers. There’s a cool JOIN special too with an option to get the popular Glass Mat Studio FREE.

Bee Mine during Sale-A-Bration

The New Minicatalog and Sale-a-bration both begin today, as well as 2 new kits in the Kits Collection. There’s a fabulous join special too – check them all out at MY WEBSITE.

I loved making these easy cards with the Bee Mine Suite. It was hard to choose which face to stamp on the cute bee! Don’t miss the whimsical embellishments.

Another duo of cute bee cards. Tip: Stamp the honeycombs randomly for a fun background.

Another easy card with the Bee Mine Designer Paper. Did you see the square pillow boxes that are part of the suite? They are food safe and adhesive is pre-applied. Tip: Here I added color with Daffodil Delight ink and a blending brush.

I’ll be featuring the Bee Mine Suite in my January Card class. In-person class is in Erie, PA, but I can send a card kit to anyone in the US for $15 – pdf instructions and videos will be available.

I just had to make a wiper card with the cute bee. It was easy once I figured out where to attach the wiper mechanism! Maybe you can talk me into making a video later in the month.

I suggest you grab the Bee Mine suite quickly at MY STORE – it was very popular with demonstrators during pre-order and could buzz right off the shelf when the mini catalog goes live on January 4th.

Tip: For the best bargain, buy the Demonstrator Starter Kit and choose between extra product and the Glass Mat Studio during Sale-a-bration.

Winter Cards

Christmas is past, but there are still some opportunities for card sending, such as Christmas thank yous, winter birthdays and Happy New Year.

I had fun one day at my Facebook Lunchtime Live showing off the Light the Sky bundle. Not only for New Year’s, this set is wonderful for any celebration.

I used Daffodil Delight, Garden Green and Poppy Parade ink to make some easy, but colorful fireworks.

By backing Basic Black cardstock with glimmer paper, I made some sparkly cards using the dies.

The Magical Meadows stamp set with the Winter Meadow Designer paper made these really easy cards.

Or step it up – Look at these lovely cards. The top right cards from our last class just add a punched greeting. The others given to me add deckled circles, an embossed window sheet and a deckled rectangle frame. Thank you ladies for these beautiful cards!

Winter Owls is another great bundle for winter cards. Paired with the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP, it is fabulous.

With this easy layout and the gingham paper, it is nice for multiples. I could see this in reds for Valentine’s Day as well.

Here I added a background using the Fragrant Forest stamp set. So peaceful!

Hope you enjoyed these winter cards, and remember that many of the products I have used these past few months are retiring soon from MY STORE!

Last Minute Christmas Gifts

It’s less than a week until Christmas – what can I make with supplies I have on hand?

I had a few scraps left from my favorite Walk in the Forest Designer paper (retiring). I cut squares ranging from 3″ to 1″, crumpled then uncrumpled and added them to a ticket stabber. If you don’t have a ticket stabber, try a skewer and make a stand out of clay or wood scrap.

I topped the trees with die cut stars from Stars at Night – stacking 4 for each star.

I used some more scraps to cover the Nested Treat Boxes (on sale). This time I used the Beary Christmas paper and fussy cut some of the winter critters.

How about some easy gift card holders? Use a bit of Tear & Tape at the top and bottom of the folded section to make the holder.

Measurements:

Card Base: 11 x 4-1/4”, scored at 1-1/2 and 5-1/2”

2 pieces coordinating DSP:  1-1/4 x 4” and 1 at 3-3/4 x 4”

For my club members, I made some treat pouches out of retired Designer Paper and the Christmas Classics stamp set. Each pouch takes a full sheet of 12 x 12 . I didn’t have much Christmas paper left so I delved into my Clearance Rack stash. A non directional paper works best for this and you don’t need adhesive – it’s kind of like a giant origami.

Instructions: Fold 12×12 sheet lightly in half diagonally and unfold. All other folds should be done crisply with a bone folder. Fold each side into the center diagonal (now looks like a kite). Then fold up the bottom triangle – a little bit more so the little tip can fold over. Then fold each side in to meet that folded up triangle.

Forever Forest

FREE SHIPPING ALERT – CHECK IT OUT IN MY STORE – ONE DAY ONLY

The Forever Forest stamp set and dies are lovely for any season of the year where an outdoor theme is needed. Add some Pearlized Enamel Effects for winter snow.

A punched moon completes the winter scene. Sentiments from the So Sincere stamp set are a perfect addition.

Here I used up some leftover pieces – a stamped Fragrant Forest background and a die cut Deckled Circle negative.

I couldn’t resist adding the Trucking Along truck to the scene.

The negative from the previous card was perfect to showcase the mountains from the dies. Tinsel Gems 4 pack were my embellishments of choice for these fun cards. The Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder has been out of stock for a while, but it should be back soon (as it is not retiring). Grab the Forever Forest bundle this month while it is still at the 10% off bundled price.

Kim Wilson
