Before I start today, I wanted to point out this really cute Christmas Card Kit that just went up in my store today. Christmas Whimsy makes a quick set of cards, fun to make for alone time, or for crafting with the family.

I was looking for an easy layout to use my Be Dazzling Specialty Paper. It is so textured and shiny, that I can maximize the impact by just using a 1″ strip. I also wanted to use the large and lovely sentiment from the Paper Pumpkin Hope Box kit, so this layout was perfect.

By using 3″ strips of Designer Paper to complete the card front, I also maximized my 6×6 paper usage. Here I found some sheets from Tidings of Christmas that are nice for fall or any occasion. (I have really enjoyed playing with that paper – here’s another blog post using it for Christmas cards). For the center rectangle, you just need 3×4″ or, as I used here, the largest die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

For the card above, I used the Shaded Summer Stamp set and a few rhinestones. Of course I had to next try out the free Summer Shadows dies (Sale-a-bration Aug-Sept 2021) that go along with that stamp set.

I switched to the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper since it matches so nicely. Here’s another easy layout with a paper saving tip:

By cutting out another rectangle with the second largest die, I was able to do a 2-fer and get 2 cards from one piece of this gorgeous Designer Paper. I love it when that happens!

I also wanted to try a Christmas card with the first layout, but couldn’t find a large sentiment that would work….until I opened my next box from Stampin’ Up! The Encircled in Warmth stamp set and Encircled in Beauty Dies were perfect!

I just added some ribbon as a quick finish for these lovely Christmas cards.
