September Stamping

It’s always a wild day when the Stampin’ Up! Clearance Rack updates.  I go for the paper first – what about you?  Kits?  Ribbon?  Embellishments?  Punches?  Check them all out at my store.

As well as enjoying some discount therapy, I’m celebrating my 22nd Stampiversary!  It was 22 years ago that I decided to purchase the starter kit so I could get my papercrafting supplies at a discount.  Who knew that  22 years later I would be blogging, doing online classes and enjoying the Stampin’ Up! community around the globe, all from my own home.

Leaders Summit

And, for those who also are interested in the discount or other perks – Stampin’ Up! has a promotion just for you.  In September you will get an free collection of stamping goodies (2 stamp sets, 16 card kits, embellishments).  The Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set is one of my favorites.  I made these cards with the same supplies that you will get with your kit.

And this is all in addition to the $125 in product you can choose in your kit.  I recommend the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine which just debuted today.  I’ve had mine for a few weeks and I love it!  If you get my newsletter, it has my detailed review.  It comes with all the plates you need.  But there is also an optional magnetic plate that is useful if you are working with a lot of small dies.

If you are a beginner or lack much time for crafting, why not try some of our all-inclusive kits?  And there’s also Paper Pumpkin that comes right to your house each month!

I have 2 online classes for September – Card Class and Christmas Class.  You can check out the details in my newsletter.

These 22 years have been both challenging (in a good way) and rewarding.  The best part has been meeting you – crafters are the best!

Happy crafting,

Kim Wilson

P.S. I’m adding my newsletter review of the new machine here, just for those that missed it.

It’s finally here! The large Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine is available on September 1.    I have mine and I LOVE it!
Q:  Why a new Machine?
A:  Without going into details, there were serious issues with the manufacturer of our previous machine that made it necessary to change.
Q:  Will my old plates work in the new Stampin Up! machine?
A:  The instructions say to use only the new plates that are included  (I assume for warranty purposes) but all the current platforms, plates, dies and folders seem very comparable to the old ones.  The only big difference I can see is that the new 3D folders need a different sandwich than the old Dynamic folders, and a special plate is included for that. (Or just use extra shims with your old machine).  I have been using all my older dies and folders in the new machine with great success.  I haven’t needed to use any plates other than the new ones that came with my machine.
Q:  Is the new machine comparable to others on the market?

A. It is exclusive, but yes. Also, due to our machines’ solid steel construction frame, the tightness and effectiveness of the cutting and embossing will remain intact over time. The precise pressure designed and engineered into the machines also results in crisp, clean, and precise cutting along with beautifully detailed embossing. The new machines have small footprints (fold-up sides), ergonomic carrying handles, easy rotating handles for comfort in use, and strategically designed platforms for superior control.

Q:  What else do you like about the new machine?
A:  I love that the platform has labeled diagrams and that all the plates are numbered so that getting the right sandwich is a breeze.
Q:  Are there any other differences with the new system?
A:  Yes, there is no magnetic platform.  Instead, there is a magnetic plate (available separately) that replaces one of the cutting plates.  The advantage is that the entire plate is magnetic, so no more jumping of your small dies.
Q:  Sold!  How can I get the best price?
A:  The larger machine cannot be used for a host 1/2 price item, but you can use host benefits and pay the remainder.  The best way to get a discount is to add the machine to a demonstrator starter kit to save 20% and get free shipping as well.  Or, purchase it after becoming a demonstrator to save 20%.
