World Card Making Day

Happy World Card Making Day!  I hope you get a chance to craft some handmade cards today.  And even more importantly – get them mailed on Monday to bless someone with the gift of your thoughtfulness.

Kits are a great way to make beautiful cards fast.  (There are several on sale this week)!

Paper Pumpkin Blissful Blooms

I made up a recent Paper Pumpkin kit while I was traveling this week.  Blissful Blooms is one of my favorite past kits, especially for the sentiments.  The above 2 cards I made from extra pieces.  I just stamped the flowers on Stampin Up note cards (on sale through Oct 7) and added the extra vellum pieces, twine and tags from the kit.

There will be a flash sale on a fall themed Paper Pumpkin kit starting October 8 through the 10th while supplies last.  Just $5 if you are a new subscriber. Here is my special link and the promo code is  FLASH1018  Put October 8th and the code on your calendar!

World Card Making Day Calligraphy Essentials

Since Calligraphy Essentials is one of the stamp sets on sale (and since my own set had never seen ink), I brought it out to play.  Again I used the note cards from the sale, and made a simple no-layers card. Doesn’t it almost looks hand-painted?

Today’s Tips:

For a no-line look, choose your lightest color to stamp with and/or stamp off.  Then fill in with Stampin’ Write Markers.  I used the Regals Collection markers for a fall look.  I stamped flowers from the Petite Palette stamp set (also on sale).  There is a good video here showing the calligraphy, but basically – use the brush ends and go up (the narrow portions) lightly, giving more pressure on the downstrokes to fill in the thicker portions of the script.

Check out all the Sale items (October 1-7)  HERE including some KITS,  ADHESIVES and 12×12 CARDSTOCK.
