You can use the Window Box Thinlit Dies by Stampin’ Up1 to make a really fun Pop Up Card – AKA Hexagonal Base Pop Up Card.  I got the  idea from Mitosu Crafts in the UK.

Here is how I made mine for an OnStage WOW swap.

1. Die cut 2 of the box shapes.

2. Cut off the tabs marked with an x.

3. Fold well on score lines except for very top flap.

4. Score on dotted lines as well – you will be folding the top in half.

5. Adhere tabs together on the 2 sides.  Adhere the outside halves of the hexagonal tops together.  Here I used Liquid Glue, but I think Tear & Tape would hold better.

6.  I added a card panel that is 3-3/4″ square to the upper top piece with some balloons and clouds from the Lift Me Up bundle.  You can add any size card or just add die cuts to float up when the card pops up.  Mine will fit in a medium envelope – 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 when it is collapsed.  I just added one card to the front, but you could add a second to the back if you want the back to look nice too.

7.  Decorate the side panels too.  If you are die cutting the windows, you will want to do this before you adhere the two halves of the box together.  I jusst used 1-3/4″ square stamped pieces. For the angled piece, I used the die to make a template.

8.  Here is what the card looks like when it is flat and then when it is collapsed.  Be sure to test it out before you embellish the card and sides.  Just push down on the top so it slides into the base all the way flat so it will fit in a medium 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2 ” envelope.
