Cake in a Mug

Here’s an easy gift for Valentine’s Day – Cake in a Mug.  I had fun making these to give away at Christmas, but they make a sweet present for any occasion.

Today’s tips:

-I mixed up a batch in a large jar to keep on hand.  I placed 1/4 cup of the mix into  plastic snack bags and added a snack sized nutella cup for my gifts.

– The easy tag is made using the Cheerful Tags Framelits dies, Baker’s Twine and a strip of Washi Tape.  Some of the supplies are now retired, but there are easy substitutes – click on the thumbnails below.

-I’ll include my recipe at the bottom of this post.
Product List

Triple Chocolate Mug Cake

Add 1 bag (1/4 cup) cake mix to a mug.

Stir in 2 Tablespoons of water.

Add a dollop of Nutella before baking for a gooey center, or on top after baking.

Microwave 30 seconds.

Best warm– mmm.

Recipe for Kim’s cake mix (in case you need more).

Mix together and store in a closed container:

1 cup flour

¾ cup sugar

1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder

¼ cup dry milk or dry buttermilk powder

¼ cup cocoa powder (I used dark chocolate)

¼ cup chocolate chips (I used dark chocolate)

Dash salt

Makes enough for about 10- 11 servings.
