Stampin’ Up! – Affectionately Yours

For the June Card Class I featured the Affectionately Yours Suite.  This includes the Designer Series Paper, Washi Tape, Floral Affection Embossing Folder, Mini Striped Ribbon, Copper Embossing Powder/Metallic Thread and the Love & Affection Stamp Set.  I love this suite of products and the colors we used.  All can be purchased at my website shop.  The instructions below are for the cards posted both today and tomorrow from my class handout.

Techniques:

Embossing on Pearls1, Metallic Thread2, Tearing3, Fussy Cutting4, 2 Step Stamping5, Dry Embossing6, Drapery Fold7

Tips:

  1. Use Paper Piercing Tool to pick up pearl and dip into Versamark ink pad, then Copper Embossing Powder. Heat. Dip again while hot if needed.
  2. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of panel or image. Peel off backing and loop thread onto the dimensionals before placement.
  3. Tear in one direction, use the side with most dimension. Layer more pieces or make a hill.
  4. Turn the paper as you cut, not the scissors, leaving a small border of white.
  5. Stamp the larger, less detailed stamp first in a light color. Then add darker color.
  6. Big Shot – check out the new platform.
  7. Many different versions (google it). For this one cut 3” x 8-1/4”. Score at 3, 4, 6 and 7”.  Cut off a triangle: start 1” down from right side and go to bottom of the 3” score line.  Pleat the paper and adhere.
