Card Class Tips

Sorry I’m late with posting the tips for the July card class.   I am catching up from Convention and projects around the house.  All 3 cards look a bit different from the first photo I posted, because I kept adding more color!

Today’s Tips:

– Card 1: Use a blender pen and ink to add color to a white embossed image.

– Card 2: Pull in color from a stamped image using an aquapainter.  Since the color is water based, you can give it a quick “smear”.  The Tangerine Tango speckles are from a spritzer of ink and alcohol – Unscrew the top and tap the barrel.  The “water droplets” on the leaves are Crystal Effects.

-Card 3:  Cut away part of the card front – back with Designer Series Paper.  Use Shimmery White Cardstock for watercoloring – it is almost as good as watercolor paper and much better than Whisper White.  Here I showed the class how to use the In Color Markers.  Scribble on an acrylic block and pick up with an aquapainter.  Or color directly with the markers to get a darker color.  Add a few Tip Top Taupe speckles by picking up that color and flicking the aquapainter. (You can’t see it very well on this photo – it’s very subtle).

Hope you enjoyed some fun ways to add color to a basic card.  Stamp sets used were Remarkable You, Watercolor Thanks and Birthday Blossoms.  All supplies can be purchased at my website Shop.  Don’t forget to check out the Weekly Deals!
