Corset Card with Tag Topper Punch

Stampin’ Up! introduced 2 new Tag Topper Punches and they have been a great hit.  The scallop punch has even been on backorder for a month.  Of course, some creative demonstrators have come up with some cool ideas for the punch besides just making tags and bookmarks!  At my last class we CASE’d one of the ideas that is popular now – I call it a corset card.

Today’s Tips:

-Use a regular 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 piece of cardstock for the base, but do not score yet.

-First make a pencil mark at an inch from the bottom.  Line up the edge of the punch with the mark, pulling the edge completely into the punch.  Repeat on the opposite edge so that your tag toppers will meet.

-After punching, snip off the top and bottom pieces on both sides using your paper trimmer.

– Score the right tab top, folding to center and the inside card to 4 1/4″

– The 2 punches have slightly different dimensions when making this card, so don’t assume the same DSP measurements for both punches.

-Decorate with Designer paper and stamps.  Close with twine or ribbon.

– You can also make boxes with these punches – I’ll try some in a few days.
