I am enjoying having the kids home for spring break.  While they are sleeping in, I want to share the other projects I promised using the petal cone die in the Occasions minicatalog.  The first was inspired by Dawn O’s blog.    I will include a short tutorial on how to cut off the bottom to make the cone into a box.  And then 2 more projects will post tomorrow.

If you haven’t purchased the “Eat Chocolate” stamp set, this projects should convince you!

1.  Cut 2 petal cone dies (one at a time).  I like to use the crease pad instead of the cutting pad to get a good score line.  Here I used Whisper White cardstock.

2.  Fold each die cut in half and place on your personal paper cutter with the score line at the 2 inch mark.  You will be making an additional score line 2 inches from the score line and then cutting off the bottom of the cone at 3 inches from the score line.

3.  Here is what the pieces look like after the cutting and scoring.  You want to cut off  the little tab on each piece and the cut up in the center.  This will allow you to close up the box on the bottom.  But first – do your stamping – here in Crumb Cake ink. 

4.  Assemble the box- 2 pieces of sticky strip will suffice for the bottom and 2 for the sides.    The top flaps can just be folded under.

5.  Add some crumb cake seam binding ribbon and your stamped tag.
