Bleached Doodles

Posted: Tuesday, April 17th, 2007 @ 2:13 pm in Projects | No Comments »

I wanted to try some bleaching with the Doodle This set, but my bleach was just not working.  Now I have some fresh bleach and it does look cool on the Chocolate Chip cardstock!  The doodle was just bleached.  The flower was embossed with gold EP and then brushed with bleach.  I then colored in the bleached […]

Beach Page

Can you believe that we had snow on the ground again yesterday?  So, I worked on some beach pictures from another dreary day last fall.  My pages are usually pretty simple.  I think it’s because my husband’s photos are so good, that I don’t need to add anything else.  And, I’m usually so far behind in […]

THese quick and easy cards use the Polka Dots and Paisleys stamp set, but could easily be switched out to other sets such as the April special All Year Cheer II.  Colors are Cool Caribbean, Basic Black, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Old Olive.  Accents are soft subtles brads and black gingham ribbon. For information on […]

Mom Layout

Posted: Friday, April 13th, 2007 @ 3:06 pm in Projects | No Comments »

This is always a popular layout around this time of year.  My version uses the Doodle This stamp set and Doodle alphabet.  Colors are Pixie Pink and Brocade Blue.  I highlighted some of the Brocade Blue doodles with the SU white gel pen.   I already made my Mother’s Day card, so this one will be […]

Metallic Pencil Burnishing and Faux Ribbon

Posted: Thursday, April 12th, 2007 @ 10:36 am in Projects | No Comments »

After spending yesterday at the shop with BOTH cars (one was not planned – brake lines gave out), I am thankful to be home and have time to try something new.  Thanks to Pam Bert for this idea.  Metallic Pencil Burnishing:  Step 1:  Stamp in black StazOn ink on Shimmery White CS. Step 2:  Apply […]

Faux Cloisonne

We did this technique in my Stampin’ Class a while back.  I knew it would be great with the new Doodle This stamp set.  I went to the SCS challenge forum for inspiration to finish the card.  Today’s color challenge is Real Red, Sage Shadow and Basic Black – a perfect fit because this technique […]

Designer Buckles and Blog Candy

Posted: Monday, April 9th, 2007 @ 8:44 am in Projects | 5 Comments »

Thanks to tc on SCS for this great idea for making designer buckles.  I adhered a 4 by 4 piece of Au Chocolat paper to a chipboard coaster using the Anywhere glue stick.  I ran it through my cuttlebug with the buckle dies.  How easy is that?!  I sponged the buckle with Cool Caribbean ink […]

Photo Card

After seeing the photo cards in the latest Rubber Stamper Magazine, I have wanted to try my hand at one.  Today’s snow and my sad daffodils seemed like a perfect subject.  Maybe we will have a white Easter, since we had a green Christmas! I pulled out Garden Green and Summer Sun from the photo.  Greeting […]

Don’t Look Mom!

I’m happy that the stamp set All Year Cheer II is on sale, but sad that it is retiring.  I think the greeting images are very sharp and am pleased at how these 2 cards turned out.  Other sets used are Both Way Blossoms and Polka Dots and Paisleys.  Colors are Teal, Olive, Pretty in Pink, […]

Faux Filmstrip

Posted: Thursday, April 5th, 2007 @ 8:47 am in Projects | 3 Comments »

I thought this faux filmstrip idea using the spiral punch was really cute.  For my card I used the Unfrogettable stamp set, Creamy Caramel and Basic Black cardstock and a few Bold Brights Brads.  I colored with the Stampin’ Write Markers.  On the inside it says “Hoppy Birthday”.   Inspired by a card by Ilovestamping13 on […]
